Toji and Gojo’s first encounter occurred during the Hidden Inventory Arc. Gojo, together with Geto, was tasked to escort the Star Plasma Vessel safely to Master Tengen. However, the Time Vessel Association was against this mission, so they hired Toji Fushiguro, widely known as the Sorcerer Killer, to interrupt them.
Toji carefully planned his course of action—he knew better than engaging with Gojo and Geto head-on. He temporarily placed a bounty on Gojo’s head so that other sorcerers would hunt him down and exhaust his energy. Surprisingly, Toji’s plan worked. Gojo was eventually worn out after fighting multiple sorcerers who came after him, forcing him to turn off Infinity for a while to recover.

Even when he was completely worn out, teen Gojo was able to hold off Toji Fushiguro during the Star Plasma Incident. After his power awakening, he was able to finish off Toji as soon as the fight began.
