What are Sorcerer Levels?
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, there is a rank system to identify the power of sorcerers. Sorcerers will be listed in the level that reflects their ability. By that, we can know summary about their power by their ranks.
This system has more scope than just applies to sorcerers. They can use it to sort cursed spirits and cursed tools.
This system has four primary grades, from grade 4 to grade 1.
All the students usually start at grade 4 when they first enter the school, but their experiment is also a plus in evaluating them.
While they are learning at school, all the students can have the chance to rank higher based on their performance. A higher-grade jujutsu sorcerer can promote a lower-grade jujutsu sorcerer to rank higher.
Rank higher means they must fight with stronger cursed spirits and challenging missions, but the money and glory also get higher.
The Grade System of Jujutsu Kaisen
(This list does not include the manga version, so you may find it different from what is happening in the manga.)
- Grade 4: the lowest grade, it’s only for the weak and lack experience in jujutsu sorcerers. The only one who’s in this position is Maki Zenin. But because Zenin family is holding her back.
- Grade 3: an average rank for jujutsu sorcerers. Some at this grade are: Mai Zenin, Kasumi Miwa, and Nobara Kugisaki.
- Grade 2: This is a great level for jujutsu sorcerers. They are strong to be listed in this grade. They can do missions alone with this grade. Some at this grade are: Panda, Megumi, and Momo Nishimiya.
- Grade 1: This is the highest grade that a jujutsu sorcerer can achieve naturally. All the grade 1 jujutsu sorcerers are the top social human. They have money, fame, and basically what they want. Some in this grade are Todo Aoi, Nanami Kento, and Mei Mei.
But there are some other grades in the middle, like Semi-grade 1 or Semi-grade 2. This is where a jujutsu sorcerer is when they get a promotion from a higher-grade jujutsu sorcerer.
Some in Semi-grade 1 are Inumaki Toge and Kamo Noritoshi. Higher than Grade 1, we have Special Grade 1. This is a position only elite jujutsu sorcerers can have. However, this grade is usually “owned” by the Zen’in family because the numbers of Special Grade 1 are often from the Zen’in family.
Some in this Special Grade 1 are: Naobito Zen’in, Naoya Zen’in, and Ogi Zen’in.
What Sorcerer Level is Gojo Satoru?
This list is still missing one crucial grade. That grade is only for special people called Special Grade.
They are so “special” that a standard grade system couldn’t be enough for them. Their power is too strong that everyone is afraid of them. Their existence is only one and can’t be replaced by others.
They are at the world’s top, and a Special Grade jujutsu sorcerer can destroy a nation!
And yes, Gojo Satoru is a Special Grade jujutsu sorcerer!
From 2016 until now, only four Special Grade jujutsu sorcerers have been known. They are Gojo Satoru, Yuta Okkotsu, Geto Suguru, and Yuki Tsukumo.

Gojo’s Solitary Life at the Top
Gojo is the one that fights alone most of the time. With Yuta, he has Rika. Geto has cursed spirits. And Yuki usually fights with Garuda by her side.
But Gojo is the one who doesn’t need outside elements to crush his enemies in the fight. However, that’s somehow extremely sad. Gojo can only be the strongest when he is alone.
Kenjaku used to say this in chapter 84: “It doesn’t matter who the sorcerer is. Anyone who fights alongside him just gets in the way.”
For example, the cursed spirits used the civilian at Shibuya to make Gojo difficult. He couldn’t use the power because he would erase all of them in one shot.
And that’s true. Gojo is nerfed when he has allies in a fight. Not just because no one can follow him but because his techniques could accidentally harm other people.
